Posted: April 28th, 2015

Tuff Gong Worldwide has just released a new album, 1World Children’s Chorus: Celebrating Bob Marley, a collection of Marley classics performed by kids from after-school music programs around the world. Directed by Aaron Nigel Smith, the 1World Chorus is a group of music schools in Jamaica, Kenya, Columbia and the U.S., the students of which sang and recorded all the musical parts on the record. During the process, the kids were given free musical lessons, free recording sessions for their own musical endeavors, and free instruments to continue learning their respective crafts. Guitars were donated by Martin, other instrument were given to the school by Guitar Center, and over 1,000 pair of shoes were also donated to the students and their communities by Keen Footwear. Furthering the charitable element of this release, Tuff Gong Worldwide has pledged to donate a portion of the proceeds from the album back to the schools that made it.
